SynchPPP

Important note:

Apple has broken some things in Mac OS 9.1. Due to that, SynchPPP does not work under Mac OS 9.1. It is possible that I will find a decent workaround, but so far I haven't.

Description

SynchPPP is a small application that allows you to synchronise the status [running/not running] of an application of your choice with the status of your PPP connection. In other words: it will launch an application when you connect to the Internet and will quit that same application when you disconnect.

The power of it is that it doesn't care about how you opened or closed that connection (using the 'Remote Access Status' application, the 'Remote Access Control Strip' module, by launching your browser, or whatever), as long as it's a PPP connection (meaning your ordinary modem connection and a few odd cable modem connections - not ADSL, nor most cable connections).

You might want to use it to make sure that whenever your PPP connection is activated, your favourite ICQ application is launched automatically - and automatically quit again when you close your PPP connection. Or your e-mail application. Or some application that tells you something about your connection (its speed for instance). If you're being charged for your on-line time, you may like to have a counter running. Any application you like. It could be your Hotline server or even Photoshop for all I care. Just be creative ;)
